House of Clay
“If we opened people up, we'd find landscapes” Agnes Varda
Casa Arcilla an experimental house, sets out to provoke and provide a gallery of thought, exhibiting that we as humans have a natural power to heal ourselves. Architecturally abstract via its story, told through the means of a functioning home and intentional in its placement, nestled in the heart of the Oaxacan coastline where jungle meets the sea. Catriona chose the ground based on its ability to provide retreat and respite while at the same time evoking creativity within the surrounding nature. Casa Arcilla will be a curated journey, a meditation, into how physical thresholds can enhance, support, and amplify the movement towards reflection: of sitting within our inner realm and digging deep into our internal landscapes that connect to our outer world.
A personal project in the concept design phase.
